Mar 21, 2012- WS 90pts. - Winemaker Notres - We’ve had huge success with the second wines from Bolgheri’s top estates (Ornellaia’s Serre Nuove, Sassiciaia’s Guidalberto, etc.) so it would only make sense to try and peddle a few bottles of the latest entry, Guado al Tasso’s impressive Il Bruciato. This may be the deal of the bunch! Mostly Cab, with a dollop of Merlot and Syrah, the healthy inky color portends of good things to come. Loads of deep blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, engaging spice notes, soft tannins, this is delicious stuff.
