WA 91 Pts - Winemakers Notes - The 2009 harvest gave us wines with wonderful aromatic expression, probably due to helpful temperature fluctuations in September and a normal ripening of the fruit. As a result, the fragrance characteristics of the grapes were able to reach their maximum potential and with a smoothness which never before had turned out like this particular year. Bruciato 2009, with its intense color, is well-defined and fresh in the nose, with aromas of red fruit followed by more complex notes of sweet spices and hints of menthol. On the palate the wine is soft, with wonderfully silky tannins; offering very fragrant and delicate hints of fruit which give it beautiful flavor and a long finish. Rated 90+
According to Wine Advocate - The 2009 Il Bruciato is a gorgeous entry-level red from Antinori’s Bolgheri property. Black cherries, espresso, grilled herbs, crushed rocks and spices are some of the notes that emerge from this generous, expressive wine. Il Bruciato is Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. A clean, saline finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. This shows tons of regional character, not to mention terrific personality. Anticipated maturity 2011-2017.
