CG 90 Pts. - According to the Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - Howell Mountain Cabernets often come with an extra measure of toughness, but this well-made wine is marked by polish instead. It leads with aromas of cassis, black cherries and caramel, and, while it does not lack for varietal extract, it is supple and nicely rounded in feel. It is rich without being in any way brawny, and it is one to tag for drinking some three to five years hence.
Winemaker Notes - Our 2007 Ami's Vineyard Cabernet is effusive with an abundance of floral overtones that are beautifully balanced with intense fruit aromas of blackberry, raspberry and ripe red cherries. This delightful concentration of fruit is accented with layers of dark chocolate and aromatic spices that pours into a palate that is pure silk and satin and full of the lush berry fruit promised in the aromas. The finish is long and lingering and the result is a wine that is both elegant and concentrated. This wine is an exceptional culmination of terroir and expertise! Rated 90+
