This is an exceptional field blend or cuvee at a reasonable price. It is easy drinking and will pair well with any meat preparation. I particularly enjoy it with grilled lamp chops on a lazy Sunday evening. It is from the Alexander Valley and is made by a small producer with care and love for wine. It is a blend of 52% Cabernet, 25% Merlot, 13% Cab Franc and 10% Syrah. Don't pass this one up.
Herb introduced this wine to me about a year ago. After tasting this elegant red blend from the AVA Alexander Valley I was hooked. This is California Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Malbec. Plenty of dark fruit flavor on the palate. For around $20 a bottle this is a great buy. By the way as far as terroir goes these vineyards are right next door to the highly popular Silver Oak. I tricked some family friends into believing that this was a $60 blend from Sonoma. After I told them the price one came by Napa Cabs and purchased the rest they had in stock.
