Winemaker Notes - The Fogdog Pinot Noir has an intense perfumed bouquet of violets, red cherry, tangerine, spice and black tea, with subtle hints of roasted coffee and creamy oak in the background. Though the 2008 vintage was challenging, the wines came through with great balance and tremendous aromatics. This wine smells and tastes like Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir with big, rich color, earthy, spicy notes and a big mouthful of Bing cherries, tangerine zest and tea leaves followed by a refined but persistent tannin backbone and fresh, lively acidity. According to the Wine Spectator: Firm, intense and vivid, with complex blueberry, wild berry, spice, fresh earth and spicy, cedary notes. Full-bodied, young and tight, this is slow to unfold, but does so gracefully. Should get better. Drink now through 2018.
