WA 91pts. - According to Wine Advocate: The sensational 2008 Chardonnay Central Coast, which is fermented and aged completely in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation, is a 30,000-cuvee of fabulous Chardonnay. Loads of tropical fruit, honeysuckle, and orange blossom notes fill the olfactory sense, as does the luscious medium-bodied texture on the palate. The wine is buttressed by crisp underlying acidity, and the result is a fresh, naked expression of Chardonnay that is top-flight. Drink it over the next year or so. Tasting Notes - This Chardonnay combines the best qualities of each of the two previous releases. This is outrageously delicious Chardonnay based on a pear and apple framework, with plenty of tropical fruit and tangerine rounding out the flavor profile. The wine reveals gorgeous fruit purity, medium body, crisp acidity, and plenty of unadulterated varietal fruit that is surprisingly complex and zesty. It also possesses the steely crispness reminiscent of quality Chablis. The wine is tank-fermented and lees-stirred with no malolactic fermentation.
