Tasting Notes - To a French man, Fitou evokes the South of France and the summer vacations spent on the Mediterranean coast. Fitou's are made with grenache, Carignan and sometimes a bit of Syrah. They should be drunk slightly chilled to enhance its fruit character. With a bit of age, as is the case here with Gerard Bertrand's 2009, the bouquet opens up with red fruit, pepper and a vanilla undertone (not due to oak though).
