Description

Winemaker Notes - Driven by his passion for the mediteranean lifestyle, Gerard Bertrand reveals all the unique character of the region's finest wine terroirs. Picpoul de Pinet has been inhabited by man since ancient times and has been a wine growing regions for over 200 years. The vines grow on rocky hillsides beside the bassin de Thau and produce a fresh, dry white wine with floral and peach aromas. Ideal with Seafood, grilled fish and salads. The Picpoul de Pinet is a dry white wine that is aromatic and very low in acidity. The locals drink Picpoul with shell fish especially oysters from the Etang de Thau. On the noze, floral and citrus come through and nicely complement the vivacious character of this wine. The finish is slightly salty (think sea food) that makes one crave for oysters!

Pretty Plump Picpoul
Some might think this wine could loose a few pounds, but quite honestly I think the fatty texture is lovely. It might take a minute for the aromas to come through but when they do you will not be disappointed. Rich and refreshing, with a lovely acidic finish this wine is not like most whites and I find it lovely just the way it is ... so there.
