Dark and seductive in the glass, this classic Bordeaux-style blend manages to be approachable yet complex. Pronounced blackberry and blueberry on the nose mingle with cedar spice and a hint of wood, while notes of bramble fruit, cherry, vanilla and dried herbs please the palate. This wine consists primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, with generous portions of Malbec and Petite Verdot to add depth to the tannic profile and color, and to enhance midpalate richness. Cabernet Franc and Merlot are also in the blend. The multidimensional character of this blend is well-suited for rich and robust foods. Try it with rosemary lamb chops with Swiss chard or pizza with Italian sausage. Or serve with a simple appetizer such as fig and blue cheese crostini.
