WA 93 Pts. - The blockbuster 2004 Shiraz McLaren Vale (from 40-year old vines) is an intense, deep, full-bodied effort displaying stunning concentration along with abundant notes of blackberry, cassis, smoke, lead and pencil shavings. This full-bodied, powerful Shiraz was aged in both new and second use American oak for 16 months. The oak component is noticeable, but it takes a back seat to the wine’s fruit and overall personality.
