WE 94 Pts. - #54 on Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2011 - According to the Wine Enthusiast: Here’s one for the cellar. It’s a big, dry, muscular wine, assertive in tannins, with mineral-driven blackberry and black currant flavors. Muscular and intense, it should provide great drinking starting in 2015 and for many years after. A very great expression of its vineyard, which is basically the old Beringer State Lane Vineyard. Winemaker Notes - Crafted from vineyard block selections, continuing in the fruit-forward style of the 2007, but with more refinement, more power and more Cabernet. Elegant, lifted nose of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, espresso, and herbs. Broad, sweet tannin and black fruit dominate the mouthfeel, well-integrated oak (70% new), provides an added dimension and potential for aging.
