WA 94 Pts. - WS 93 Pts. - Super-star winemaker Celia Welch whose clients have included Scarecrow, Corra, D.R. Stephens, Staglin Family Vineyard, and Hartwell Estate, has crafted this Cabernet from a vineyard in the rugged hillsides of Stags Leap District.
According to Robert Parker: The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has a slightly denser, fuller personality, with a deep ruby/purple color, a classic nose of spring flowers and cedar wood, and a touch of toasty oak interwoven with black cherry and black currant fruit. It is medium to full-bodied, shows velvety opulence and has a long finish. It should drink well for 15+ years.
According to the Wine Spectator: Full-blown, dense and concentrated, with tiers of blackberry, wild berry, plum and licorice, this persistent red has a long, tightening finish. Pure and perhaps a bit richer and extracted than prior years. Best from 2012 through 2022. Rated 90+
