WE 94pts. - Winemaker Notes - The Profile is Merryvale's flagship Bordeaux blend, designed to showcase the best fruit from each vintage. The 2004 is comprised predominantly of cabernet sauvignon (79%), petit verdot (12%) and merlot (7%) from Merryvale's estate vineyard, Beckstoffer-ToKalon, Georges III and Vineyard X. It was then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. The resulting wine displays classic Bordeaux aromas like black cherry and cassis, complemented by hints of vanilla, cedar and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is rich and dense, sure to last for a decade or more. Decant recommended in the wine's youth.
