Elk Cove 2009 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
Wine Spectator 91 points
“This fresh red is inviting and invigorating for its juicy black currant, plum and white pepper flavors, playing with zest against polished tannins and lively acidity. Drink now through 2019.”
Foxglove 2010 Chardonnay California (Varner)
Wine Advocate 90 points
“The 2010 Chardonnay is one of the top values in California wine. It possesses tons of ripe, varietal fruit in a style that is quite rich but not heavy. Clean citrus and floral notes add freshness on the long finish. Lees stirring gives the wine much of its richness, while aging in steel helps maintain freshness. There is remarkable depth and textural finesse here, never mind a price that is mind-boggling for this level of quality. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.”

Borsao 2009 Garnacha Tres Picos Campo De Borja
Wine Advocate 92 points
“The 2009 Tres Picos is a worthy successor to the string of splendid vintages which have preceded it. Heady black cherry and blackberry aromas, Asian spices, incense, and mineral notes lead to a dense, layered, rich old-vine Garnacha that over-delivers in a big way. A tasting of every vintage of Tres Picos ever produced (back to 2001) at the Bodega in January 2011 indicates that 8-10 years of pleasurable drinking is a reasonable expectation. However, this is a wine that is ready to drink on release.”

Travaglini 2005 Gattinara
“The 2005 Gattinara is a pretty, mid-weight Nebbiolo. Sweet cherries, tobacco, herbs and crushed flowers are some of the notes that emerge from this classy, refined red. The Gattinara is a somewhat fleeting, ethereal wine, but it has the freshness and firmness to age well for at least another decade. This entry-level Gattinara possesses tons of varietal character in a translucent, weightless expression that is typical of the appellation. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020.” – Wine Advocate 90 Points

Planeta 2009 Cerasuolo Di Vittoria Sicilia
Tasting Notes - Ruby colour with black cherry hues. The nose shows cherries dipped in freshly ground pepper. The palate is big and juicy with big cherries, spice, nutmeg, and very nice mouth feel. The finish is medium with that singular cherry component coming though.
