Cabreo 2009 Chardonnay La Pietra Toscana: $ 27.00 Bright pale gold in color with an elegant varietal nose of white fruit, spice and integrated vanilla notes, this seductive Chardonnay delivers a rich, buttery texture, firm backbone and lovely acidic balance. The finish is clean and smooth, with impressions of intensity.
Masi 2009 Valpolicella Bonacosta: $11.00 Medium intensity cherry red with edges still youthful. Intense cherry aromas on the nose, very inviting and attractive combined with hints of violets. Instantly noticeable freshness on the palate, with good supporting acidity and excellent balance marked by soft and silky tannins. The biggest fruit component is cherries sweetened with touches of vanilla.
Campo Al Mare 2009 Red Wine Bolgheri: $ 22.00 Campo al Mare is a deep ruby color with violet reflections. It shows aromas of small red woodland fruits with notes of licorice and discreet oak in the background. On the palate, the wine is full and velvety in texture, with the aromatic impressions confirmed in the flavors, finishing on a long, silky note.
Donnafugata 2007 Tancredi Sicilia IGT: $ 35.00 Elegant and bodied red wine, its bouquet settles on notes of licorice, cocoa, black currant, berries with a hits of mint.
Terredora 2008 Lacryma Christi Del Vesuvio Rosso: 19.00 WA 90pts. - Tasting Notes - Intensely ruby red in colour with violet reflections, it has an intensely fruity aroma with hints of cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant and spicy overtones with hints of minerals and cloves. Soft and elegant, with pleasant tones of mature red fruits, plums and hints of tobacco, coffee and ground pepper. According to the Wine Advocate; Terredora is firing on all cylinders these days. Virtually all of the wines I have tasted recently have been superb. The 2008 Lacryma Christi is 100% Piedirosso, one of Campania’s indigenous grapes, that spends eight months in French oak.
