NapaCabs Saturday 06/09/2012 : 3 big domestic wines.
3 Pours = $14.00 Re-Tastes = $5.00
Exceptionally we will be closing at 3:30pm this Saturday.
Illumination 2010 Sauvignon Blanc (Quintessa): $ 34.95 Sauvignon Blanc grapes from Quintessa and vineyards in the cool southern hillsides of Napa Valley were hand harvested and whole-cluster pressed. The wines were fermented with native and cultured yeasts in several different vessels. French oak barrels (10% new) contribute body and a round mouthfeel, egg-shaped concrete fermenters add rich texture with aromatic purity, and stainless steel tanks provide fresh unadulterated aromatics. Semillon provides texture and roundness on the palate to complement the vibrant, tangy Sauvignon Blanc. Lees stirring in tank and barrel lends additional complexity
Emblem 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford : $ 38.95 Winemaker Notes - Rich, sophisticated and earthy, with concentrated dark berry and cassis aromas, beautifully balanced flavors of dried fruit and currants, and ripe, evolved tannins expressive of Rutherford dust. Its long, smooth finish marries rich fruit with savory, toasted oak tones.
Amapola Creek 2007 Syrah Sonoma Valley: $ 39.95 WA 94 Pts - According to Robert Parker - Arrowood has a long history of making Syrah, and his 2007 Syrah from a mountainside estate vineyard organically farmed has a dense purple color and a big sweet kiss of exotic flowers, blue and black fruits, graphite, and subtle smoke. Full-bodied, opulent, fleshy, intense and layered, this is a brilliant Syrah, still very youthful, and best drunk over the next decade or more. Winemakers Notes - Painstaking organic farming and finely-tuned crop levels on our estate vines gave us a phenomenal Syrah, one we would be very pleased to make every year. It happens that 2007 was the first crush at our new Amapola Creek facility, and what a spectacular way to start. This wine was punched down entirely by hand and put into 40% new Ermitage barrels with the balance in seasoned French oak.
