May 26, 2009- Winemaker Notes - The 2005 Mercury Head Cabernet marks the 5th vintage of our premier cabernet. The grapes are sourced exclusively from the Taplin Vineyard in St. Helena and the Morisoli Vineyard located in the heart of Rutherford. Both vineyards are low-yielding and impeccably farmed. The 2005 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and exemplifies the intensity of the Taplin fruit while showing the Morisoli terroir creating a wine of extreme concentration, finesse, structure and balance. A Mercury Head dime is affixed to each bottle makeing this rare and limited Cabernet extraordinary.
