Pinot Gris or Pinot Grigio (Pee-noe Gree/ Pee-noe Gree-joe) are the French and Italian names for the same grape. This is a dry white that can be found in many regions but the primary producers would undoubtedly be the Alsace region of France and Oregon of the U.S. Oregon might be the new kid on the block when it comes to growing Pinot Gris but that hasn’t stopped it from amassing a distinguished reputation in the field. Pinot Gris tends to be fragrant with a light floral quality and citrus flavors. On the palette you will find either a light slightly tangy or a moderately rich full-bodied wine that will feature apples, lemons, pears, and an assortment of floral notes.
