Winemakers Notes - A deep crimson red, The Scribbler 2009 shows excellent concentration and lift on the nose, with redcurrant fruits, spices and licorice complementing fresh floral aromatics of herbs and mints. This is a densely weighted wine with blackcurrant fruit and dark berries. The Shiraz is again nicely layered within a tightly integrated and beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon palate.
According to Wine Spectator - Lean and sleek, keeping its ripe blueberry and currant in proportion with hints of cedar and dark chocolate as the finish lingers. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.
According to Wine Advocate - Blended of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Shiraz, the 2009 The Scribbler Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz has a deep garnet-purple color and notes of crushed black currant, warm blueberries and hints of dusty earth and graphite. Medium to full-bodied with medium-firm chewy tannins and crisp acid.
