WE 93 WS 90 Pts - According to Wine Enthusiast - Symmetry is Rodney Strong’s most important red wine, the one they pull out
all the stops on. It’s usually a hit, and so is this 2008, which is a blend of all five Bordeaux red varieties, but primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s extraordinarily rich in blackberries, plums, blueberries and cassis, with a surprising meatiness, like beef tartare. The mouthfeel is very soft, suggesting that this wine’s best days are now.
According to Wine Spectator - Weaves together a complex, layered mix of blueberry, currant, mineral, graphite, tar and cedar flavors. Full-bodied without weight, ending with a detailed mix of flavors. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2020.
Winemakers Notes - The 2008 Symmetry greets you with a generous bouquet of blackberries, ripe dark plums, sweet spices and pie crust. It opens boldly on the palate with layers of blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate and brown spice. This mouth-filling wine is rich, silky in texture, expansive and quite long on the finish, and manages to be at once harmonious, powerful, and elegant. Intended to be enjoyable on release, Symmetry is destined for years of further evolution in the bottle. Rated 90+
