Family owned and operated, Round Pond Estate is located in Rutherford between prime territory between Caymus and BV. We've enjoyed their Estate Cabernet for the last few vintages, and 2009 is great right out of the gate with layers of deep red and blue fruit, and excellent structure.
Winemaker Notes - With a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, this wine evolves dramatically from its first few moments in the glass. Initial top notes of Spanish lavender and brambles are followed by graphite, Asian plum, and cassis. Moments later, inviting fragrances of burnt vanilla caramel greet the taster. Flavors are reminiscent of mocha dusted bakers chocolate and dark cherries.
