Jan 12, 2011- Tasting Notes - Loads of berry with hints of licorice and spice aromas lead to a heady, full bodied, rich and layered Zinfandel. This has surprising elegance and balance especially when considering the significant amount of alcohol that is hidden beneath the surface. That's a good sign as only the Zinfandels with sufficient fruit extract (typically from low yields and low vines) can achieve this. This is delicious and hard to stay away from now. The 2007 vintage of Seghesio’s Sonoma Zin received 93 points from the Wine Spectator and disappeared in a flash, make sure to get a few bottles of the 2008 before it goes away.
