Sonoma County, as an appellation, has got it all! Mountains, Valleys , Coast Line, and varied climates to boot. With Mendocino County to the North, Napa Valley to the East, the bay area South and only the Sea to the West ,Sonoma County is prime real-estate for wine growing. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have found happy homes in many of Sonoma County’s 13 AVAs. Cabernet is another popular varietal for Sonoma County, more specifically Alexander Valley, which has very similar growing conditions to Napa Valley
