Sweet scents of tobacco, rosemary, cedar, spices, worn-in leather and licorice lead to a textured, layered core of fruit. This shows lovely inner sweetness and perfume. The silkiest of tannins frame an impeccably, polished finish. Structurally this isn't a huge Taurasi, but it appears to have enough freshness to drink well for a number of years. Superb and elegant Taurasi 2005
Aglianico is an very interesting grape, in Campania where it thrives, it often grows on tuffo (volcanic material)and exudes smoky and black licorice aromas. In Taurasi, the Aglianico transforms itself into a very elegant and classy wine, loaded with tertiary flavors of plum, fig, leather and musty woods. Taurasi is a special AVA in Campania, believed to produce wines of superior stature and finess. The Terredora 05 taurasi is complex, with big fig, cedar,tobacco on the nose and dried plum and musty wood aromas on the palate. The finish is long and somewhat reminiscent of an aged Bordeaux. This wine is an incredible value at $25.00!

Terredora Taurasi Terroir is Terrific!
The first sniff sent me right back into the woods ... In a good way. Let's just say I love to camp and the aromas of this wine took me right back into that feeling. I don't often geek out, about wine that is, but I truly did get a sense of place when tasting this. It's smooth in the mouth with excellent structure a finely tuned finish. This is not a big wine, but it certainly left an impression.

Taurasi for $25? Yes. Please.
Terredora's 05 Taurasi is one of those wines that makes me giddy like a small child. It hits every checkmark for me... quality, price, and sense of place. This one reminds me of my Grandfather... cigar smoke, leather, and cherry hard candies, with plenty of personality and refinement. Salud!
