Winemaker Notes - John Kelly is the man behind Westwood Winery. John spent many years working around Sonoma and Napa counties learning winemaking and developing an accomplished set of skills with Stags Leap Wine Cellars, Duckhorn, and Sonoma-Cutrer. In 1995, following lessons learned from his associations with wineries successfully specializing in one grape – Cabernet at Stag’s Leap, Merlot at Duckhorn, Chardonnay at Sonoma-Cutrer – John decided to focus his attentions at Westwood on only Pinot Noir and Syrah. John is determined to maintain a hyper-focused garagiste commitment to quality sustainable winegrowing and the innovative application of traditional method.
