WA 91 IWC 90 Pts - According to Wine Advocate - The 2012 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills is a rocking effort that represents a superb value. Offering up notions of rose petal, ripe cherries, raspberries, spice and even some forest floor, it’s seamless, elegant and layered on the palate, with plenty of class. Aged 16 months in 20% new French oak and a blend of 5 different clones, it’s an outstanding wine to drink over the coming 4-5 years.
According to International Wine Cellar - (made from fruit grown in the La Encantada and El Jabali vineyards): Bright ruby-red. Smoke- and spice-tinged dark berry and cherry pit aromas show good depth and clarity, along with a subtle floral nuance. Round and seamless on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of candied licorice. The plush, appealingly sweet finish is framed by velvety, slow-building tannins.
According to Antonio Galloni - Alma Rosa's 2012 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills is a pretty wine with good immediacy. Dark red cherry, plum, spice and leather notes all flesh out in a supple, mid-weight wine to drink now and over the next few years. 14.8% ABV.
