Spotlight Winery, Mastroberardino: Established in the 1750s by winemaker Pietro di Mastro Berardino, Mastroberardino is Campania’s most renowned winery. Pietro was awarded the professional title of Mastro as testament to his skill in quality winemaking, a tradition that continued uninterrupted for 10 generations and lives on to this day. Today, Mastroberardino is universally acknowledged to have been the most important guardian of the viticultural and oenological heritage of the Roman age. Under the patronage of the “Presidenza della Repubblica,” the winery has been appointed to reintroduce vine growing in the ancient city of Pompeii. The family-based firm has long championed the indigenous varieties of Campania: Aglianico, Falanghina, Fianco, Piedirosso, Greco and Coda di Volpe.
Mastroberardino 2014 Lacrimarosa Campania Winemaker Notes - This wine is light pink in color with a fruity yet delicate bouquet of white peaches, honey, strawberries, raspberries, peonies, and currants.
Mastroberardino 2014 Falanghina Di Sannio DOC Winemaker Notes - Pale lemon-green in color, aromas of ripe pineapples and citrus fruits are complemented by undertones of white flowers. On the palate, zesty acidity and persistent notes of honeysuckle and toasted almond make for a definite crowd-pleaser.
Mastroberardino 2014 Lacryma Christi Del Vesuvio Rosso DOC Winemaker Notes - Intense ruby-red in color, aromas of cherries and red fruit underscore notes of plums, raspberries, and black pepper. Refined tannins and good acidity make this wine rich without being overpowering.
Marchesi de Frescobaldi 2011 Nipozzano Riserva Chianti Rufina DOCG JS 91 Pts, WS 90 Pts - Winemaker Notes "Nipozzano 2011 is a ruby - red with good consistency. The nose opens with a strong fruit component of blackberry, blueberry and cherry. Sweet notes of cotton candy and spicy notes of cloves and nutmeg follow. The tannins are dense, but not harsh. The palate is warm and smooth, lovely persistence and remarkable taste -olfactory correspondence." Winemaker's Notes: Intense ruby-red in color, Lamuri offers lush aromas of black cherry, black fruits, vanilla, tobacco, and wild herbs. On the palate, velvety tannins and refreshing acidity make for an elegant, expressive, crowd-pleasing wine. Lamùri, or “love” in Sicilian dialect, is made entirely from hand-harvested Nero d'Avola grapes. The Tasca family credits the elegance of the final wine to the unique sandy soil and microclimate of this region. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French barriques for one year to add extra finesse.

A full-bodied wine whose typically brisk acidity and supple, sweet tannins lead to a long finish. Aromas of blackberry, stone, slate, oyster shell, and truffle that turns to full body, soft and velvety tannins and a long, long finish. This goes on for minutes on the palate. A savory and gorgeous wine.
