WA 94 - Couldn't get your hands on the 2012 Anniversary Vintage? Get your hands on the 2013, production was much lower and the vintage will quickly disappear. "Deep red and opulent in color with the vibrant scent of dark cherry and blackberry, subtly layered with warm notes of vanilla. The palate is explosive, bright and balanced with cassis at the center, with flourishes of cocoa and sweet tobacco."

Details

WA 94 Pts - According to Robert Parker - "A beautiful ripe, plump, fat and opulent style of Cabernet Sauvignon that Caymus has pioneered, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dense purple color, loads of juicy blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, low acidity and no real evidence of oak, but a nice, plush, full-bodied opulence. This is irresistible, especially for a Cabernet Sauvignon coming in at 14.9% natural alcohol. Drink it over the next decade or more."

Tasting Notes - "The 2013 growing season was another great one in Napa Valley. Our Cabernets are a blend of wines from eight of the sixteen sub-appellations – a bottling that represents complexity through judicious blending. Deep red and opulent in color with the vibrant scent of dark cherry and blackberry, subtly layered with warm notes of vanilla. The palate is explosive, bright and balanced with cassis at the center, with flourishes of cocoa and sweet tobacco." 14.9% ABV.

Some will love it. Not my cup of tea.
I'm rating this wine for what it is, rather than for what I prefer in a Napa cabernet. Highly extracted, gorgeous deep black/purple to the rim. Nose is sweet red & blue fruits, and a whiff of pure alcohol. The front page story for this wine though is the intensely concentrated ripe sweet fruit density completely across the palate, which I find overwhelming but some love.

Elegant concentrated Cabernet.
Black and blueberry floral nose. Vibrant concentrated blackberry and cherry fruit smoothly coats the palette, finishing with velvety cassis, with hints of vanilla and oak.
