Located at the extreme south west of the Cahors appellation, the vineyards from the Lamartine estate benefit from a micro climate with oceanic influence. Malbec has been grown on this soil since the Gallic time and the property was partially destroyed in the Middle Age and barely survived the Phylloxera crisis of 1866. Chateau Lamartine is able today to offer us this superb wine with bright red color and a vinous bouquet, slightly influenced by oak and black licorice. Powerful and fat on the palate without being jammy, a certain astringency is perceived on the finish. For wine consumers found of Argentine Malbec, Here is an opportunity to taste the original expression of the Malbec grape. This is a wine that should age well for a few years.
