W&S 90 WS 90 WE 89 IWC 89 Pts - According to Wine & Spirits - "A vinous pinot noir, this is quiet and mildly tense, its scents of dried cherries carried on a sleek texture. It needs some cellar time and then something delicate to match, like arctic char."
According to Wine Spectator - "Fresh and vibrant, with a strong whiff of violet and other flowers running through the cherry and cocoa flavors, lingering against modest tannins. Best from 2014 through 2018."
According to Wine Enthusiast - "Pungent and assertively herbal, this blend of Chehalem’s three estate vineyards has aromatics to spare, along with an earthy mix of root, stem and brambly fruit. There’s a streak of cola also, and it delivers plenty of power for a cool vintage wine that clocks in at 12.7% alcohol."
Accordint to International Wine Cellar - "Brilliant ruby-red. Spice-accented red berry and floral pastille aromas show good clarity and a touch of succulent herbs. Silky and sweet on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Refreshingly bitter on the finish, firmed by gentle tannins and a touch of dusty minerals. This nervy pinot reminded me a lot of a Pernand-Vergelesses."
Winemakers Notes - "Our 2011 3 Vineyard Pinot begins with perfect garnet color, as your nose is immediately met with elegant cherry, black cane fruit, and beautiful floral aromatics (at the intensity of a florist shop or big orange stamens). The palate shows low to moderate tannins, silk nap, a nice bitter accent on finish, and age-worthy acid. Warm a sip on the tongue - you peel layers of pie cherry, chocolate, sage, mint, rose petal, juicy summer strawberries, slight toast, and vanilla. Truly elegant, and a very appropriate representation of 2011 intensity and balance." 12.7% ABV.
