WS 90 Vinous 89 WA 88 - Spicy with black pepper, along with traditional notes of black red fruits, currant, cherry and strawberry. This wine pours with a beautiful dark red color.

WS 90 Vinous 89 WA 88 Pts - According to Wine Spectator - A silky, caressing style, with red currant, plum and blackberry fruit melded together and gliding over singed spice, dried star anise and fruitcake notes. Presents a light cedary backdrop on the finish. Drink now through 2022.

According to Josh Raynolds - Vivid ruby. Pungent red berry and spicecake aromas are complemented by tobacco and fresh flowers. Pliant, sweet and focused, offering juicy raspberry and cherry flavors that pick up a spicy nuance with aeration. Dusty tannins build on the finish, with the spice note echoing.

According to Wine Advocate - The straight 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape is a blend of 80% Grenache, 8% Syrah, 7% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault that’s sees the same élevage as the 2013 (i.e. all in foudre). It’s a solid straightforward effort that gives up classic dark fruits, herbed game, olive and hints of tobacco leaf to go with a medium-bodied, nicely concentrated profile on the palate. As with a lot of 2012s, it has a classic, focused and balanced feel that will be ideal for drinking over the coming decade.

80% Grenache, 8% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault. 14.5% ABV.
