WA 93+ Pts - According to Robert Parker - The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee is made from an identical blend, but from older vines, and slightly more new oak is used for the Syrah and Mourvedre components. Exhibiting better acidity than the regular cuvee, it is rich, full-bodied, backward and promising. A deep ruby/purple color is followed by notes of blueberries, black raspberries, creme de cassis and garrigue intertwined with notions of lavender and licorice. This is a classic wine of Provence as well as Chateauneuf du Pape that should drink nicely for 15 years. One to two years of cellaring may be warranted given the wine’s structure and youthfulness.
30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 30% Syrah. 14.5% ABV.
