Grand Estate wines are produced in eastern Washington and are a true expression of the region. Affordable and reviewed with great respect by two well read monthly magazines.

According to Wine Advocate - The 2008 Amitage Red Blend Grand Estates, a new cuvee, is composed of 64% Merlot, 19% Syrah, with the balance small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 16 months in 25% new French and American oak. It offers up greater complexity than the other Grand Estates reds and is a balanced, lengthy offering that offers excellent value.

According to Wine Spectator - A lithe, graceful style, playing generous currant and plum fruit against hints of coffee and smoke, with refined tannins pulling together seamlessly. Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Drink now through 2013. 50,000 cases made.

Tasting Notes - This complex red exhibits layer flavors of blackberries and plums with a subtle spiciness and silky mouthfeel that leads to a long, elegant finish.
