WA 90 - "Ruby-hued and scented with wild dark cherry and black tea. Great length and balanced acidity. Layers of blackberry, cherry and earth unfold over a silky palate. Notes of cola and mineral accent a long finish."

According to International Wine Cellar - "Deep red. Lively red berry and Asian spice aromas are deepened by hints of cola and anise. Taut and linear on entry, then broader in the middle, offering fresh raspberry and cherry flavors and a touch of candied flowers. Shows good energy and lift, finishing with lingering spiciness and soft tannins."

According to Wine Spectator - "Shows good intensity, purity and range of flavor, with vibrant, earth-laced plum and black cherry notes, accented by touches of violet. Ends with licorice hints and firm tannins. Drink now through 2022."

Tasting Notes - "Dark ruby in color and scented with huckleberries, rose petals and anise, this lively expression of cool climate Anderson Valley pinot noir emerges from the glass in layers of red currant, blackberry and cola with subtle hints of vanillin, clove and cardamom. Supple tannins and balanced acidity grace a long finish." 14.1% ABV.

WA 90 Pts - According to Robert Parker - "The elegant 2012 Pinot Noir Cross Barn Sonoma Coast exhibits excellent notes of licorice, red and black currants and a hint of sweet cherries. With outstanding texture, velvety tannins and a delicious mouthfeel, this is a super value in high class Pinot Noir. Moreover, there are 10,000 cases. Enjoy it over the next 2-3 years."

According to Antonio Galloni - "The 2012 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is plump, juicy and expressive. Rose petals, cinnamon and licorice add nuance in a racy, fruit-driven Pinot to drink now and over the next few years. The Sonoma Coast is a blend of fruit from the Russian River Valley and the true coast."

According to Wine Enthusiast - "This is a rich, flamboyant Pinot for drinking now. The raspberry and cherry flavors express California heat and sunshine, but you’ll find brisk coastal acidity for balance, as well as a luxurious layer of oak."
