WA (94-97) Vinous (93-95) WS 92 Pts - According to Wine Advocate - "The 2012 Block B always shows the most minerality, as well and the most richness (the Authenticity is in the same ballpark) in the lineup. Loaded with serious cassis, black raspberry, chocolate, graphite and crushed rock-like aromas and flavors, it has a full-bodied, decadent feel on the palate that carries building tannin and terrific length. It should be reasonably approachable on release and dish out loads of pleasure through 2024."
According to Antonio Galloni - "Epoch's 2012 Block B, 100% Syrah, is captivating from the very first taste. Orange peel, flowers and spices all add naunce to a core of deep, intense fruit. Complex, perfumed and wonderfully complete, the 2012 is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. The layered, voluptuous finish is a thing of beauty. In 2012, winemaker Jordan Fiorentini used about 52% whole clusters in the Block B, which gives the wine much of its intrigue and nuance. What a gorgeous wine this is."
According to Wine Spectator - "Ripe, plump and generous, with a smooth entry introducing rich graphite and mineral-driven blackberry notes. Maintains focus and structure amid the long, persistent finish, echoing the core flavors. Drink now through 2028." 15.9% ABV.
