WE 92 AG 91 IWC 91 Pts - According to Antonio Galloni - The 2011 Pinot Noir Ashley's bursts onto the palate with juicy dark cherries, pomegranate, spices and blood orange. There is an element of exoticism to the Ashley's that is intriguing. Sweet floral and spice notes add complexity to a focused, mineral-infused finish that balances some of the wine's racier, more extroverted leanings. The 2011 spent 16 months in French oak barrels, 50% new.
According to International Wine Cellar - Ruby-red. Smoky red berry preserve and cherry pit aromas are complicated by notes of vanilla and licorice. Juicy, penetrating red fruit flavors show impressive depth as well as energy and pick up spiciness with air. A touch of bitter chocolate comes up on the finish, which features dusty tannins and a strong echo of sweet red fruit.
According to Wine Advocate - The 2011 Pinot Noir Ashley’s is a beautifully ripe, textured and elegant effort that delivers ripe cherry fruit, spice and underbrush aromas and flavors to go with a medium to full-bodied, rounded and supple mouthfeel that carries solid precision and focus. It falls off slightly on the finish, yet is a delicious, upfront Pinot to enjoy over the coming 4-5 years. Drink now-2018.
