WA 94 Vinous 93 Pts - According to Wine Advocate - "Always one of my favorite Petite Sirahs, Jaffurs’ 2012 Petite Sirah Thompson Vineyard doesn’t disappoint. Its inky purple color is followed by notions of plum, violets, tar and asphalt, and it offers full-bodied richness, loads of sweet fruit and no hard edges. Aged 10 months in 15% new American oak, with the balance a mix of neutral French and American barrels, enjoy this beauty over the coming 4-5 years, although I suspect it will evolve longer. "
According to Vinous - "The 2012 Petite Sirah Thompson Vineyard jumps from the glass with super-ripe plums, blackberry jam, cloves, menthol and lavender. The rich, unctuous style is intense and racy to the core, with a deep, inky finish that nearly buries the Petite tannins."
According to Wine Spectator - "A bright, floral expression for a Petite, with plumeria and pepper accents to the juicy cherry and berry flavors. Spice and mineral details chime in on the long finish, where the tannins firm up. Drink now through 2025."
According to Wine Enthusiast - "This wine from the well-known Los Alamos Valley vineyard shows aromas of licorice, blackberry extract, peppery plums, chewy berry candies and mint. It’s full on the palate at first, but stay afloat on the tongue with tar, more blackberries and chopped Italian herbs. The tannins could use a bit more mellowing." 15.2% ABV.
