WA (96-98) AG (93-95) Pts - According to Wine Advocate - The 2013 Estate Cuvee is similar to the blend of the 2004 and is 43% Syrah, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petite Verdot. Dense, concentrated and powerful, it offers knockout aromas and flavors of cassis, black cherries, flowers and charcoal that flow to a full-bodied, seamless and perfectly balanced wine that will have two decade or more of longevity. While I think 2012 was a slightly more successful vintage than 2013 for this estate, this should certainly be up there with the 2012 and it will be interesting to follow the two vintages as they evolve.
According to Antonio Galloni - In 2013, the Estate Cuvée is fabulous. Layers of dark blue and black fleshed fruit meld into grilled herbs, smoke, new leather, violets and lavender. A virtually seamless, opulent Paso Robles wine, the 2013 Estate Cuvée impresses for its supple, resonant texture and impeccable overall balance. The deep, resonant finish is especially beautiful. The Estate Cuvée is 43% Syrah, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petit Verdot. 15.8% ABV.
