WA 90 WS 89 Vinous 89 Pts - According to Robert Parker - "Even better is the 2012 Flux Blanc, a blend of 84% Grenache Blanc and 16% Roussanne that is also aged in concrete eggs on its lees. It offers abundant notes of rose petals, white currants and honey in a medium-bodied, distinctive, dry style with loads of fruit as well as impressive purity. Like the Albarino, it is best drunk in its exuberant youth, during its first 1-2 years of life."
According to Wine Spectator - "Starts off with a fragrant lemon verbena note, followed by tangerine, cantaloupe and pear flavors that are smooth, crisp and clean, presenting accents of green apple and lemon zest on the finish. Grenache Blanc and Roussanne. Drink now."
According to Antonio Galloni - "Blanc/Roussanne blend, is a bit richer and more voluptuous than the Acha Blanca. Lightly, floral honey, Chamomile, mint, melon and white pears all flesh out in a generous, inviting wine loaded with class and personality. Exotic floral notes from the Roussane linger on the perfumed, generous finish. The 2012 is 84% Grenache Blanc/16% Roussanne."
Winemakers Notes - "Flux Blanc is a Grenache Blanc dominated white blend made of Grenache Blanc (70%) and Rousanne (30%). Grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed and fermented in concrete eggs for 4 months. These eggs have the unique ability of allowing micro amounts of oxygen into the wine much like barrels but without imparting wood flavors. Furthermore, the egg’s round-bottom shape is constantly keeping yeast lees in suspension, which helps develop mouth-feel. The outcome is a huge complex aromatic array of flinty white peaches, honeysuckle, rose petals, apricot and spring flowers. The mouth in incredibly rich with honeyed exotic citrus and refreshing acid balance. This wine is both a sipping wine and a great food wine." 13.3% ABV.
