WA 91 WE 90 Pts - According to Robert Parker - "The 2012 Chardonnay Bennett Valley (425 cases produced) comes from chalky soils, is fermented with indigenous yeasts, and aged in 30% new French oak. This more backward-styled Chardonnay exhibits notes of quince, white peach and white currants, medium body, refreshing acidity and admirable intensity. Drink this beauty over the next 5-6 years, although I suspect it may last even longer."
According to Wine Enthusiast - "The Bennett Valley-based producer employed fruit from its neighborhood for this wine, filling it out with a majority of grapes from Alexander Valley. Rich in caramel and matchstick, it’s an integrated wine, balanced between ripe pear sweetness and savory aspects of oak and spice. On the finish, expect vanilla bean and fresh lemon."
According to Stephen Tanzer - "Light yellow-gold. Displays scents of ripe melon and peach, with a touch of mango and subtle spiciness. Fleshy, palate-coating tropical fruit and honeydew flavors are kept in check by juicy acidity, which adds back-end bite. Finishes with good clarity, energy and length, leaving a peachy note behind."
According to Antonio Galloni - "Butter, pastry, dried pear and almond notes all flesh out in the 2012 Chardonnay Sonoma County. This textured, inviting Chardonnay will drink well for at least another few years."
According to Wine Spectator - "Honeyed and perfumed, with floral apple and citrus notes focused on the nose. A bit grainy and edgy on the palate, but should gain, turning more supple with time. Drink now through 2021."
According to Wine & Spirits - "A rich, buttery style of chardonnay, this is honeyed and surrounded in oak, with enough acidity to draw the fruit out in a gentle line." 14.5% ABV.
