Details

WA 92 AG 92 Pts - According to Wine Advocate - A southern Rhone-like blend of 43% Mourvedre, 38% Grenache and 19% Syrah, the 2010 Altas Vinas is a beauty. Dense and meaty, with the Mourvedre really showing, it delivers loads of smoked black fruits, licorice, roasted meats and mineral qualities on the nose. This flows to a full-bodied 2010 that has a rich, full texture, solid mid-palate depth and a focused, structured finish. As with the Grenache, it needs a handful of years to come together and will shine for upwards of a decade. Drink 2014-2020.

According to Antonio Galloni - The 2010 Altas Viñas, a Mourvedre/Grenache/Syrah blend, captures many of the characteristics that make the McPrice-Myers wines so appealing. Dark plums, smoke, chocolate, licorice and menthol meld together in a wine that impresses for its length, focus and pure drive.

According to Wine Spectator - Features full-bodied dark berry fruit, with plum and wild berry notes. A touch of black tea is evident in the tannins, ending with elements of fresh earth and loam. Mourvèdre, Grenache and Syrah. Drink now through 2018. 518 cases made.

Tasting Notes - Violet, licorice, cola, rock dust, nori, lavender candy, black, mint, cherry, granite, hibiscus, milk chocolate, fresh wild strawberries, allspice, soft tannins, long spicy finish. Rated 90+
