JS 92 AG (89-92) Pts - According to James Suckling - This is very aromatic and pretty with plum, cherry and currant aromas, plus hints of chocolate. It's full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a clean, fresh finish. This is a subtly fruity, juicy red with a pretty texture. Drink or hold. For early drinking. 71% cabernet sauvignon, 11% merlot, 9% petit verdot, 8% cabernet franc and 1% malbec.
According to Antonio Galloni - The 2011 Opus One naturally comes across as a bit slender next to its contemporaries. Still, there is quite a bit to admire. A distinctly floral-infused bouquet melds into sweet red fruit. The finish is graced with considerable aromatic intensity and lift. Overall, the 2011 shows quite a bit of potential, especially within the context of a year that was extremely challenging.
According to Wine Spectator - Sleek and elegant, with a core of dusty oak, dark berry, black licorice and violet, this gains depth and expands on the finish. The fruit core pushes past the drying, gripping tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Drink now through 2022. Rated 90+
