Double Gold - Seattle Wine Awards -
According to Wine Advocate - "The 2012 Syrah Estate is totally gorgeous, and certainly rivals the stunning 2010. Giving up notions of lavender, black pepper, bacon fat, plum, and wild herbs, this beauty is full-bodied, thrillingly pure, fresh and elegant on the palate, with integrated acidity, fabulous length and no hard edges. Possibly with some upside, it can be enjoyed anytime over the coming decade or longer. "
According to Wine Spectator - "Polished, round and expressive, featuring glassy tannins around a distinctive core of green olive-accented blackberry, plum, cherry and star anise flavors. Comes together with savory details on the finish. Best from 2016 through 2022."
According to Wine Enthusiast - "The aromas on this Rocks District wine pop with huckleberry, black and green olive, plum and mineral. It’s dazzlingly polished and textured in feel, with nuanced, detailed smoked meat and savory flavors. It nonetheless retains an exquisite sense of balance and restraint, capped off by an outrageously long finish."
According to Stephen Tanzer - "Bright ruby-red. Complex, inviting aromas of black raspberry, spicecake, smoke and roasted game bird. Supple, fine-grained and suave, with lovely restrained sweetness to the flavors of raspberry, plum, lavender and mint. Riper and more harmonious than the 2011 was at the same stage of its evolution but not a bit heavy. Nuances of mint and licorice add piquancy. Ripe tannins and firm, harmonious acidity give the lingering, perfumed finish very good lift. This is excellent—not to mention an impressive performance for young vines." 13.9% ABV.
