IWC 90 - In 1956, we moved to what is now "Gino's Vineyard", a five-acre parcel in the rocky hillsides on the eastern bench of the valley. The vineyard was planted to Zinfandel about 52 years ago and produces quintessential Dry Creek Zin with brown/ginger spices and juicy raspberry and cherry fruit.

Details

IWC 90 Pts - According to Stephen Tanzer - Good bright, deep red. Aromatic nose combines strawberry, spices and lavender. Nicely balanced and easy to drink, showing an Old World texture and the weight of a Chianti. Flavors of candied raspberry and spices are well-delineated and juicy. Finishes firmly tannic and fresh.

According to Antonio Galloni - Bright red cherries, plums, licorice, sweet spices and mint all flesh out in the 2011 Zinfandel Gino's Vineyard. Soft and fruit-driven, this juicy, flavorful Zinfandel-based red should drink beautifully over the next handful of years.

Winemakers Notes - Named after my dad, this 55-year old vineyard is five acres in size and has a very special place in my heart. Located on a rocky hillside bench on the eastern side of Dry Creek, it’s the place I used to play as a child, and where my son Adam was first introduced to viticulture. The selection of Zinfandel, Carignane and Petite Sirah grown in Gino’s Vineyard represents a traditional field blend my Father made each year. 14.4% ABV.
