AG 92 IWC (91-92) WE 90 WA 90 Pts - According to Antonio Galloni - The 2012 Côtes de Tablas is wonderfully lifted and floral in the glass. Sweet red-toned fruit, crushed flowers, mint and anise are some of the notes that inform a weightless, feminine wine built on silkiness. The 2012 is impeccably balanced and classy to the core. The 2012 is quite a bit brighter and more floral than the 2011, partly the result of the higher percentage of Grenache in the blend, but also a reflection of the year. The blend is 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 10% Counoise and 5% Mourvèdre.
According to Stephen Tanzer - eep ruby. Cassis, licorice and bitter chocolate aromas, along with a hint of candied flowers. Densely packed but energetic, with dark fruit and licorice flavors complicated by a touch of rose. Very smooth and gently sweet, showing very good clarity on a broad, subtly tannic finish with repeating licorice and floral notes.
According to Wine Advocate - The 2012 Cotes de Tablas is a delicious, easy drinking blend of 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 10% Counoise and 5% Mourvedre. Showing lots of Grenache character with its ripe red fruits, spice, underbrush and hints of licorice, it is medium-bodied, moderately concentrated, yet graceful and balanced on the palate. Showing some nice tannin on the finish, it should evolve nicely for 4-5 years.
According to Wine Enthusiast - As always, the historic winery produces a nuanced, restrained style, with a subdued nose of berries and balsamic reduction. It’s light and bright on the palate, with chicory and woody tones and medium-ripe cherry fruit, a perfect partner to varied foods.
