WA 91 Pts - According to Wine Advocate - The 2012 Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands, which comes from the Fogstone and Lone Oak Vineyards, offers an outstanding array of ripe apple fruits, crème and hints of butterscotch to go with a medium to full-bodied, rounded, supple style that stays fresh and clean. Aged ten months in 16% new French oak, it’s a beautiful, classy Chardonnay to drink over the coming couple of years.
According to Wine Enthusiast - Lifting aromas of orange blossom, night jasmine and pear lead the way. On the palate, there is a salty character along with freshly cut kiwi, exotic spice and a tad of bitter greens on the finish.
According to Antonio Galloni - Apricot, orange blossom, butter and spice notes meld together in the 2012 Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands. This is a fairly plump, juicy Chardonnay built to deliver near-term enjoyment, which it does.
According to Connoisseurs Guide - Here is a plump and fairly substantial wine that is fully out in the open and plays to Chardonnay's riper side rather than one that is concerned with nuance. It is slightly oily and fairly full-bodied in feel with a scant touch of latter-palate heat as the price of its ready ripeness. That said, it will match up well with richer fare such as salmon in sauce, and it should be tagged for drinking in the relatively near-term while its more firmly structured siblings wait in the wings. 14.2% ABV.
