IWC 90 Pts - According to International Wine Cellar - (100% garnacha; no oak): "Vivid purple. Powerful aromas of blueberry, blackberry, woodsmoke and Indian spices. Displays supple, open-knit flavors of smoky dark berries, bitter chocolate and candied flowers. Seductive right now, with a sweet floral pastille element carrying through a long, smoky, tannin-free finish. An amazing value."
According to Robert Parker - "An Eric Solomon custom cuvee, the 2012 Evodia is 100% Grenache from a vineyard planted at more than 2,000 feet in pure decomposed slate soils. Some of the Grenache vines are over 100 years of age. The wine exhibits good density, plenty of richness, not the complexity or ethereal qualities of several of his other custom cuvees, but beautiful fruit, a luscious texture and a hedonistic mouthfeel as well as finish. Enjoy this remarkable value over the next 2-3 years."
Tasting Notes - "Pairs well with white and red meats roasted or grilled, big game, meat casseroles and stews, complex sauces, foie gras and legumes or blue and cured cheeses." 100% Garnacha.14% ABV.
