According to Tasting Panel Magazine - LONG AND FOCUSED…Soft, ripe and juicy with plum, berries and herbs.
According to Connoisseurs Guide - Chocolate, toasty spice and an interesting suggestion of smoke are backed up by enough black cherry fruit to keep this bottling within fairly broad varietal lines, and its fruit manages to keep pace in the vaguely leathery, slightly astringent flavors that ensue. The wine, while not hugely tannic, does tend to get a bit dry at the finish, yet, in this era of rising Cabernet prices, this one offer a lot to like for the money. Good Value!
According to Wine Enthusiast - Smoke, plum jelly and a touch of violet form the aromas for this offering. The tannins are nicely thick, with prominent flavor profile of unsweetened blackberry jam. This meaty wine will improve with a bit more time in the bottle, so hold off until 2016.
Tasting Notes - The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with generous aromas of black fruit, toasty oak, caramel and cedar. The palate is elegantly layered with flavors of plum, cherry and blackberry, followed by trailing notes of black olive and cocoa. Fine tannins linger on a juicy, structured finish. Cabernet Sauvignon 76%, Syrah 16%, Zinfandel 4%, Petit Verdot 2%, Cabernet Franc 1%, Malbec 1%. 13.3% ABV.
