IWC 91 WE 91 Pts - According to International Wine Cellar - "Deep ruby. Cherry-cola, blackberry, licorice and a subtle note of woodsmoke on the fragrant nose. On the palate, pliant dark berry and spicecake flavors gain sweetness and weight with air, picking up a floral nuance along the way. Closes spicy, focused and very long, with supple tannins adding shape"
According to Wine Enthusiast - "This is the most widely distributed, highest-production Pinot Noir from Archery Summit. It’s forward and fruity, with generous, ripe strawberry and cherry fruit. There is a steely sheen to the finishing flavors, like licking a knife blade, and the tannins pack enough muscle to further improve the wine through 2018–2020."
According to Wine Spectator - "The blackberry and cherry flavors play against a hint of smoky barbecue as the firm tannins frame the finish. Has intensity but needs time to soften. Best after 2016."
Tasting Notes - "An expansive array of fragrances arise from the glass of this aromatically complex Pinot Noir. This bottling beautifully expresses the superior quality of the Willamette Valley’s stellar 2012 vintage. A mixture of blackberries, star anise, cinnamon stick and rose petals on the nose suggest a wine that’s ripe, lush and layered. Upon entry, the palate supports this impression with plush, dark fruit flavors and a fine, silky dusting of milk chocolate. The wine finishes elegantly with a real sense of opulence and finesse." 45% Arcus Estate, 26% Archery Summit Estate,16% Red Hills Estate,11% Looney Vineyard,1% Renegade Ridge Estate.14.5% ABV.
