WS 93 WA 90 Pts - According to Wine Spectator - "Delicate aromas of crushed dark berry, wilted rose, cedar and graphite fold over to the palate, where they are trim and structured. The firm acidity and tannins are complemented by a hint of fresh-crushed rock. Best from 2016 through 2028."
According to Robert Parker - "Even better than the regular Knights Valley cuvée is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from Knight’s Valley. It reveals more fudge, toast, licorice, blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, impressive purity as well as a long finish. This is top-notch stuff that should drink well for 10-12 years."
Winemakers Notes - "The return of the Beringer Knight’s Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2012. Beringer acquired Knights Valley vineyards in 1961, as the first winery to recognize the great potential of this region for growing Bordeaux varietals. The Knights Valley designation was first used on a Beringer label in 1974. Over the last five decades, the Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet has found many devoted followers. Winemaker Laurie Hook has worked the Knights Valley vineyards for two decades, watching the vineyards evolve and noting which blocks and rows are particularly unique. Using fruit from those prized blocks, Laurie has crafted the Knights Valley Reserve Cabernet, which provides the purest and most layered expression of the unique terroir." 14.9% ABV.
